Welcome

Welcome to the osLogin project site.  If you like this project and want to see further development on it feel free to make a donation, future changes are unlikely unless we need them for Novorum inc websites or have sufficient monetary reason to persue development.

What is osLogin?

osLogin in an open source project to unify the authentication mechanisms of existing heavily used open source projects so that users of a wiki, blog, e-commerce, project management, or other more custom site only need to register once in order to access the entire set of sites.

Why was it developed?

Because we want our users to have a fluid experience across all Novorum inc websites.  osLogin was developed to provide that experience while being able to use the rapid deployment of popcorn open source projects in conjunction with our own custom code.

How does it work?

osLogin uses lightweight plugins or hacks to standard open source projects in order to syncronize login information to a central osLogin server while allowing for variable levels of security configurations.  For instance, if you have internal development sites and public facing sites you may want to allow users registered on the internal sites to propogate to public, but not vice versa - osLogin provides this functionality and level of security.

When will it be available?

Shortly, other projects take precedence right now.
